Tango is a 12.5 metre vessel and has a beam of 5.3 metres which is wider than most catamarans. She is suitable for many types of charter work and is moored in Weymouth harbour alongside the quay wall, which makes for easy access. She is fully coded to 60 miles from a safe haven.
The boat is powered by a 750 HP engine and can operate up to speeds of 16 knots.
She is fully equipped with 6 KVA 240V generator and has central heating and a full range of GPS chart plotters, radars etc.
Tango is mainly used as a dive charter boat operating out of Weymouth by the owner/skipper Phil Corben who has more than 40 years experience of working in the waters in and around Weymouth and Portland. He holds a Yacht Masterís offshore licence and is a fully qualified Marine Engineer.
The vessel would be ideally suited for:
1. Film work - cameras have been mounted both on the fore and aft decks and there is plenty of space in the wheelhouse for setting up operators' equipment. Equipment can be powered by 12V and 24V DC and 240V AC all on board.
The boat has been used for carrying both film crew and camera men to shoot scenes for films such as 'Enigma ' and 'K9 The Widow Maker'. The most recent being 'Force 9' Phil was the marine co-ordinator for the shoots. Tango would be the ideal boat for filming the sailing events in Weymouth 2012.
2. Tango would be a great base boat for team training on the offshore sailing sites as she has a lift, toilet, shower and galley facilities. There is also ample space for de-briefing and there is also a rest area.
3. Tango would make a suitable security boat and also ideal for corporate hosting.
